Drying Off After the Storm

It rained almost all of yesterday and dumped 1.10 inches of rain in our neighborhood. I found this deer, and several of it's friends, bedded down today in a dry spot under some white pine trees.

What's for Lunch?

With the low temperatures in the single digits for the past couple of mornings, I found these deer out in the warm sun today searching the brush for something to eat.

HELP! I'm trapped in a bucket

I had a couple of 5 gallon buckets rattling around under the tonneau cover of my truck and when I removed them I found a pair of big sad eyes staring back at me.

New Year's Visitor

I've been trying to relocate some opossums out of a turkey nesting area on our property and found a skunk in the trap today.



I have a fondness for skunks (more than I do for woodchucks and opossums) and decided to release this one without relocating it.



It took a little coaching to get the skunk out of the trap but it soon ran a short distance into the woods and down an old woodchuck hole. It appears this is a local skunk that lives about 20 yard from the trap.
