Mapping the well site

Greenway Engineering was at the cabin today setting up a GPS base station at a known reference location. Using this known location and a GPS base station they will record location data around the well pad to create a 3D map of the completed site.

Pad Construction - Day 42

Greenway Engineering was at the site today surveying locations on the well pad. They set up a GPS base station along Joyce Road at a know pin location used for prior surveys of the area.

On the well pad the drilling location were marked.

Trucks continued to haul more rock to the pad area and stockpile it.

An excavator worked on the dirt stockpile at the uphill side of the site.

Pad Construction - Day 16

Yesterday's rain turned the clay soil to a muddy mess ...

Today's sunshine (and lack of rain overnight) allowed the crew to make some progress.

Greenway Engineering was on site for an E&S (erosion and sediment) inspection.

Two CAT D8s double teamed the dirt moving as they started creating the level section of the northeast corner of the drill pad.

Looking southeast from the stream crossing the lower side of the hillside is starting to raise.

The stake is in the ground

With the cold weather there hasn't been too much to report from the Joyce Road neighborhood until today. While Mary was doing her daily walk to the cabin she met a team from Greenway Engineering leaving the property. The team from Greenway had just completed the surveying for the well pad on our property. As mentioned in an earlier blog posting, we had requested a different location for the well pad on our property and today the new location was staked out.

FYI - The well site name has been changed from EASTHILL to JOYCE ROAD (easier to find on a map).

The well location will be near the center of the property and farther from Joyce Road and neighborhood homes than the earlier location. The following image shows the placement of the well on our property (GPS = 41.845294, -76.330909) with the shaded area showing the well pad placement.

EAW37 (EASTHILL) Environmental Evaluation

Jim Irre of Greenway Engineering was at the cabin property today for another environmental evaluation of a different location for the proposed EAW37 (EASTHILL) well pad on our property. This new location is Southeast of the prior EASTHILL location. If the environmental study of this location is acceptable then a GPS mapping of the location will be preformed to determine placement of the proposed well pad.

EASTHILL site survey

Greenway Engineering was in the neighborhood today to do the initial survey of the proposed EASTHILL (EAW37) drill site. This survey will be done with a GPS mapping system to create a 3D map of the property for use in creating a well pad layout. Two wooden survey stakes and metal pins were placed along Joyce Road next to our cabin property as reference markers for other surveys done on the EASTHILL drill site.
