Pipeline Construction

For the past couple of days the pipeline construction crews have been working on sections both the Wilmot and Zion pipelines on Jason and Mary Abell's property.

Wilmot Pipeline
A section of the pipeline that passes through Abell's wetlands was connected to sections of the pipeline that was already in the ground.

Zion Pipeline
While one crew worked on the Wilmot Pipeline a different pipeline company worked to bury a section of the Zion Pipeline near the intersection of the two pipelines. The two pipelines were not connected together at this time since they will need to install valves at the junction of the two pipelines

Pipeline Construction

Work on the Wilmot Pipeline moved to the section south of Bliss Road on Jason and Mary Abell's property, near the intersection with the Zion Pipeline.

The crew was digging the trench for the pipeline but yesterday's rain/snow turned the clay soil to slippery mud on the surface. Digging in the trench went from mud to solid rock.

This excavator was able to work through a layer soft shale and clay on the north end of the trench.

On the south end of the trench the digging was in solid rock. The cloud of dust in the trench is from ripping through the rock.

A pump is moved into place.

Pipeline Construction

It's hard to drive around without finding pipeline construction. Three different pipelines are being constructed in our neighborhood at the same time.

Wilmot Pipeline
The Wilmot pipeline is the main north/south pipeline running through the neighborhood. The welding operation on the Wilmot pipeline has moved from our property to Jason and Mary Abell's.

Wesauking Pipeline

Work is just getting started on the Wesauking pipeline. The Wesauking pipeline connects to the Wilmot pipeline on our cabin property and will run west.

Clearing and grading of the Wesauking pipeline route has just started and the local turkeys are inspecting the work.

Zion Pipeline

The Zion pipeline connects to the Wilmot pipeline near Jason and Mary Abell's house and runs east.

Pipeline Construction

The clearing and grading of the Wilmot pipeline on our cabin property is nearly complete as an excavator moves dirt next to the wetlands by the cabin.

The timber mating is in place at the wetlands section through our woods.

The pipeline grading has now moved to the section between the cabin driveway and Bliss Road. Th Zion pipeline will connect into the Wilmot pipeline along this section.

Pipeline Survey

Mark McCullough of A-1 Surveying was at the cabin property today to set up a GPS base station for surveying along the route of the Zion pipeline. The survey work for the Zion pipeline is near Bliss Road (Abell Road) but the GPS base station is position at a known reference point at the cabin and used to calculate other location in the neighborhood.
