Pipeline Construction

A truck load of pipe for the section of the Wilmot Pipeline on our property is transported to the construction site on the timber plank access road.



Sections of pipe are positioned along the pipeline route. This section of the pipeline is just south of our cabin.

Pipeline Construction

The clearing and grading of the Wilmot pipeline on our cabin property is nearly complete as an excavator moves dirt next to the wetlands by the cabin.

The pipeline grading has now moved to the section between the cabin driveway and Bliss Road. Th Zion pipeline will connect into the Wilmot pipeline along this section.

Work continues on placing timber mats through the wooded area of the pipeline route on our property.


This wooded area has several sections of wetlands and needed lots of timber mating.

Pipeline Construction

The timber mating on the pipeline access road now allows the truckloads of timber mates to be delivered closer to where they are needed on the pipeline route.

Pipeline Construction

Timber mats have been placed on the pipeline access road from Joyce Road to the pipeline right-of-way near our cabin.



Timber matting has also been placed in the cabin driveway where the pipeline will cross our road.

The timber mats on the access road will now allow "wheeled" equipment, such as a forklift, to move supplies to the pipeline route.

Pipeline Construction

The warm/wet Winter weather is creating some additional problems for the pipeline construction ... MUD!

The "Ditch Witch" used for installing silt fence has become another victim of our clay soil.


An access road to the pipeline is being constructed next to the driveway to our cabin. This temporary access road is being constructed with planking placed over the muddy soil.

Pipeline Construction

Construction equipment for the Wilmot pipeline is active again on the cabin property. This photo shows an excavator moving supplies along the pipeline route at the wetlands crossing near our cabin.

Since this pipeline crosses both State Route 467 and Johnson Creek near Allis Hollow Equipment, this section of the pipeline will be bored out. At the top of the hill, in Sink's field, the silt fence has been installed at the exit location for a pipeline bore.



The pipeline boring will start on the south side of Johnson Creek, at the base of Harmony Hill and will proceed north under the creek and SR-467 and continue underground to Sink's field at the top of the hill. This pipeline bore is 1/2 mile long and when the boring is complete a 24 inch gas pipeline will be pulled back through the bore hole.

This photo shows the pipeline boring equipment in the field next to Raglan Road (T738). The boring operation is being done by Carson & Roberts of Lafayette, NJ.

Pipeline Progress

Over the past couple of weeks, crews have been working on clearing the right of way for the Wilmot pipeline. Trees along the pipeline route were cut last March and now the crews are clearing and chipping the trees.

The following photo shows a section of the woods at our cabin property where the crew is in the process of removing tree stumps and stacking wood to be chipped.

Smile, You're on Candid Camera

I take a lot of pictures and sometimes people aren't aware I've taken their picture. I just found a picture of me on the internet, on Google Map!

The Google Map Satellite image for our neighborhood was updated with a more current, high resolution image. The resolution is so good I was able to find myself working at our cabin property.

When I started looking at objects in the lawn at our cabin it was easy to pick out my John Deere tractor and a hay bale. I soon remembered the hay bale was only in the lawn for one day in early October when I reseeded the lawn and I was there the whole time. On closer inspection I was able to locate myself working on the lawn. (Click on photo for enlarged view)


This view shows the cabin property, our barn property, the reclaimed well pad area, access road, driveway to the cabin and even freshly mowed areas.



Since this satellite view of Rome was taken after the recent flooding it also show some of the flood damage along Wysox Creek.
