I was driving down Joyce Road and noticed a Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) on top of a utility pole in a spread-winged stance known as a "Horaltic Pose". It is believed that vultures use the "Horaltic Pose" to dry their wings to reduce weight and create more lift.
A closer look shows this is a juvenile Turkey Vulture with a dark head and bill, whereas adult Turkey Vultures have reddish heads and white bills.
