I was doing some excavating with my backhoe along the edge of the pond near our cabin when I exposed about 30 snapping turtle eggs. The eggs looked slightly smaller than ping-pong balls.
Generally, incubation takes from 75 to 95 days, and hatchlings emerge between August and October. Depending on temperature and when the eggs were laid, sometimes the hatchlings don't emerge from their eggs until the following spring.
