The Rut

We are entering the peak of the breeding season for the local whitetail deer, known as the rut. This is one of my favorite times of the year to photograph the bucks since they are more active looking for females and less cautious than usual. I found this young buck chasing one of the neighborhood does.



This is the doe the buck was following.



The buck was more concerned with following the doe than avoiding me.
