I found this flowering Steeplebush (Spiraea tomentosa) in a moist, overgrown field behind our house. Steeplebush is a native plant, also known as hardhack because of its tough stem.
The Steeplebush flowers are about 1/8 of an inch wide and are arranged in narrow, pyramid-shaped clusters. A close-up view of the flowers.
