Pipeline Construction

March is noted for changes in the weather and within a couple of days it went from warm and sunny to cold and wet.

Last night's rain turned the pipeline route to mud.

The pipeline crew started working on installing a section of pipe across the wetlands near our cabin. The first job was to pump last night rain out of the trenchs where sections of the pipeline were already in the ground.

Extra work was required to lay the pipeline through the wetlands.

After a section of the pipeline trench was dug across the wetland area worker created a dam to carry water through a culvert pipe and over the pipeline trench.

With the water flowing over the pipeline trench the excavators work to complete a trench to connect the sections of pipeline already in the ground on both sides of the wetlands.

As the day progressed the weather got worse. As the crew prepared to lay the pipe in the trench a snow squall created a whiteout and coated the ground in minutes.

The new section of pipe, wrapped in yellow, is positioned into the trench and welded to the other two sections of the pipeline.
