Pipeline Construction

With the 20 inch diameter section of the Wilmot Pipeline installed on our property, work is now focused on the larger 24 inch diameter section of the pipeline. The 24 inch section of the pipeline will run south from the valve assembly where the Wilmot and Wesauking Pipelines intersect.

A large excavator, from Carson & Roberts, was delivered today and was just able to clear the overhead power line marker with the boom lowered.

Carson & Roberts is the company doing the pipeline boring south of our property. The half mile long pipeline boring will start south of State Route 467 and exit from the hill near our property. When the boring is complete a long section of 24 inch diameter pipe will be pulled back through the bore hole to the starting point of the pipeline bore.

The pipe that is pulled though the bore hole will need to be welded together before it can be "pulled back" through the bore hole. The first load of 24 inch pipe was offloaded near our pond.

The sections of 24 inch pipe are placed along the "pullback" area. The pullback area is a half mile long, straight area where the pipe will be welded prior to pulling through the bore hole.

The 24 inch, brown bore pipe, has a different coating than the 20 inch green buried pipe.

View from our cabin of 24 inch pipe being unloaded in the pullback area.

The first truckload of pipe is offloaded as the second truck load of pipe waits for its turn.
