It's now the third day of framing construction on Brian & Tish Hopkins' new house and the crew is busy working on the second floor. By 10:00AM they have installed the section of the second floor over the front porch, some of the sub-floor and the back exterior wall.

A crane was brought in to lift a heavy steel I-beam and position it in the garage area.
Setting the I-beam in place. This I-beam spans the length of the garage area and will support the second floor living space over the garage.
With the I-beam in place the crew installed the floor joists for the second floor. The garage floor needs to be filled with compacted stone before a concrete floor is poured.
