Spring Wildflowers

When most people think of violets, they think of of a small blue to purple flower.

While walking through a wooded area today I came across this lone Downy yellow violet (Viola pubescens).

Not far from the lone yellow violet, I found several patches of Sweet White Violets (Viola blanda) in the same wooded area.

Blue, yellow or white, all of these wild violets are members of the Violaceae family.
